At CBS, BBSA hosts regular events ranging from social to professional, providing members with a holistic business school experience. In addition, we partner with clubs and organizations at CBS, the broader Columbia University community, the greater Harlem and New York City area, and the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management.

  • Annual Elevate Conference

    As the oldest, student-led conference at Columbia Business School, the Elevate Conference is an annual opportunity for black business leaders and their allies to discuss challenges, reflect on opportunities, and honor the achievements of industry giants. Previous years’ participants included Robert Smith (Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Vista Equity Partners), Carla Harris (Managing Director, Morgan Stanley), and Steve Stoute (CEO of United Masters).

  • BBSA x HBA Family Dinner

    Hosted by Professor Modupe Akinola and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Office, the annual BBSA x HBA Family dinner is an opportunity for Black & Hispanic students at CBS to connect with classmates and gain personal, professional, and academic support and resources.

  • Black History Month Celebration

    Each year BBSA celebrates Black History Month. Not only is this a time to reflect on past achievements, but it is an opportunity to celebrate the the continued advancements of the Black community at CBS and beyond.
